Apply Now for the "Reporting Resilient Cities" Project!

Published on May 13, 2026

Join us for study trips to Prague, Berlin and Kyiv to explore the energy transition in three European capitals!

n-ost invites nine journalists from Kyiv, Prague and Berlin to participate in the “Reporting Resilient Cities” project.

The project provides insight into the strategies and measures that Prague, Berlin, and Kyiv intend to use to manage the energy transition. How do we get renewable energy onto roofs and into boiler rooms? How do we create more acceptance for the necessary investments? How do we protect our infrastructure from sabotage?

To find answers to these and other questions we will take you on two study trips: From July 13-17 we will talk to experts, activitsts and city representatives in Prague and Berlin. From 30 August to 3 September we will travel to Kyiv and see how the war-torn Ukrainian capital is fighting back against the destruction of its energy infrastructure and how it plans to seize the opportunity for a green recovery.

You will not only deepen your knowledge about the energy transition and different paths to achieve it. You will also get to know interesting colleagues whom you will be able to collaborate with in the future.

 Who can apply?

Applicants are supposed to meet the following criteria:

  • Proven interest in energy topics;

  • Working for media with a wide outreach, national or international (staff or freelance);

  • At least three years of professional experience;

  • Willingness to publish at least one long-form article about the project's topic;

  • Proficiency in English.

Application deadline: 8 June 2026 (midnight CET).
