The Eurasian Climate Brief

A podcast on climate news in the region stretching from Eastern Europe, Russia down to the Caucasus and Central Asia. We aim to give voice to the best experts and journalists to make sense of a part of the world where environmental news is at best underreported, at worst a crime.

Our podcast provides insights into latest developments, policies and discourses of countries that, in times of climate change, find themselves in an interesting triple role of a victim, a beneficiary and a potential saviour at the same time.

In the course of 20 episodes, journalists, activists, and experts from the region discussed a broad variety of topics, ranging from China's role in Central Asia's energy market, the environmental and energy consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine to the EU's Emission Trading System.
