Science Communication Training and Climate Dialogue in Kyrgyzstan

Published on May 6, 2026

In mid-April, n-ost brought basics science and climate communication skills to over 40 experts, scientists, and health professionals across Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia. As part of the project Communicating Climate Change in Central Asia, participants explored why effective communication matters beyond the lab and the office — helping researchers and practitioners translate their knowledge into public impact, influence policy, and build trust with wider audiences.

On April 17, doctors and specialists from the Republican Center for Health Promotion and Mass Communication and the Research Institute of Health in Kyrgyzstan participated in a Workshop on "Introduction to Climate Communication," gaining understanding of formats and practical tools for engaging broader audiences and making complex scientific knowledge accessible.

From April 13 to 16, n-ost facilitated a workshop on climate communication for members of Climate Action Network EECCA and Central Asian NGOs at the Regional Climate Dialogue in Kyrgyzstan — an event bringing together civil society representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Georgia to discuss climate adaptation priorities for mountain regions.

Both activities reflect n-ost's ongoing commitment to strengthening climate communication capacity and regional cooperation across Central Asia.
