Introducing Climate Journalists Joining “Digging More Deeply” Project in EaP Countries

Representing Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and neighboring European countries, these reporters will collaborate to explore pressing environmental issues, strengthen investigative skills, and develop story ideas that shed light on climate challenges across the region.

We’re excited to introduce the 16 climate journalists as a participants of project Digging more deeply: Climate investigations in EaP countries.

They are: Suren Deheryan (Armenia), Kristine Aghalaryan (Armenia), Knar Khudoyan (Armenia), Alex Shahnur (Azerbaijan), Hanna Valynets (Belarus), Tatsiana Hendzel (Belarus), Tsira Gvasalia (Georgia), Ana Mtchedlishvili (Georgia), Malvina Cojocari (Moldova), Ratoi Renata (Moldova), Kostiantyn Donchenko (Ukraine), Serhii Barbu (Ukraine), György Folk (Hungary), Adina Florea (Romania), Emilia Sulek (Poland), Teresa Di Mauro (Italy)

Project participants will meet in Chisinau for a three-day workshop to get to know each other, learn basics of investigation from Jacopo Ottaviani (Italian award-winning computer scientist and data journalist), and work on pitches of their future stories. After the Workshop they can apply for the grant to write exploratory or pre-investigative reporting to identify leads, trends, and actors.
