This 4-day intensive programme will bring together climate journalists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and EU countries. Through a mix of expert-led sessions, co-creation formats, and field visits, participants will explore pressing issues at the intersection of climate change, energy, and policy in the Eastern Partnership region.
The workshop will include discussions with NGOs, government representatives, and technical experts, as well as hands-on sessions designed to support the development of original stories.
We are looking for climate journalists with 2–3 years of experience. Applicants should demonstrate a record of climate-related reporting. Experience with digital formats (such as podcasts or video storytelling) is strongly encouraged, though investigative journalism experience is not required.
We will select:
As part of your application, please submit a short pitch (idea) that you would like to develop during the workshop and in the following 6–8 weeks. Your idea can be national or cross-border, but should clearly focus on climate change or energy-related issues.
Important: Selected participants will be required to provide a confirmation letter from an editor, confirming their willingness to publish your article if selected.
After the workshop, participants will be eligible to apply for funding of up to €800 (including taxes) to support the development of their story. This can be used for exploratory or pre-investigative reporting to identify leads, trends, and actors.
Participants will be notified after 1 June 2025.
