Next Station Ukraine in Berlin

“Next Station Ukraine”, the project, featuring images of Ukrainians sheltering in Kyiv and Kharkiv subways, was displayed in commercial billboards at Alexanderplatz subway Station. Berlin local residents and tourists saw images of ordinary Ukrainian people hiding inside stations, trying to maintain their everyday life there.
I didn't want to film the war. It was a necessity. Through photography, it was easier to accept the terrible reality that the war had come to my hometown.

On the first day of the exhibition, 9th of June, Ukrainian musician Denys Karachevtsev, who played for local residents in the Kharkiv subway in March 2022 and featured on one of the billboard images, made a musical performance. He played a short piece by Ukrainian musician Viktor Rekalo.
