Covering Ukraine: German perspective (Kyiv Media Hub event)

Kyiv Media Hub is a series of monthly events and networking activities in the framework of “The Europe-Ukraine Desk” project. These events are aimed at bringing together Ukrainian journalists and their foreign colleagues to discuss professional topics related to journalistic work in Ukraine, share experiences, and create opportunities for collaboration.

On 16 October, a panel discussion titled "Covering Ukraine: German Perspective" took place in Kyiv at Urban Space 500 (9 Hrinchenka Str.). The event focused on various aspects of how the German media approaches the coverage of Ukraine and Russia’s war against it.

The invited speakers reflected on:

  • The specifics of the German media landscape;
  • The range of media approaches to covering Ukraine and the war;
  • German society’s perception of the war and its development;
  • Personal experiences in covering Ukraine for the German media.

Invited speakers:

  • Anastasia Rodi (Magazova), reporter for *taz*;
  • Vassili Golod, journalist, editor for ARD.

The Kyiv Media Hub features expert speakers, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and non-formal gatherings. It is open to all journalists and media professionals working in Ukraine.
