Monica Williams

Monica Williams is a veteran journalist born and raised in the United States. She's currently a European Journalism Fellow at Freie Universität Berlin. Before coming to Berlin, she was a journalism innovation fellow at the Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri, where she created Grants for Journalists, tools that help journalists find funding for their reporting and operations. Her career includes working on staff at The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, The Boston Globe, The Detroit News and the Korea Joong-Ang Daily in Seoul. Her freelance writing has been published in The Washington Post Global Opinions, The Wall Street Journal, The Independent (U.K.), National Geographic Traveller, Miami Herald, The Standard (U.K.) and the South China Morning Post. She's on the Fulbright Specialist registry, eligible for placements until 2028.
