Joshua Evangelista

I am a journalist and author specialising in human rights, international affairs, conflict, memory and the politics of remembrance. My reporting has taken me across the Balkans, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Africa and the wider Mediterranean, where I have investigated how societies confront war, authoritarianism, denial and contested memories. I am the author of the book "Sarajevo" (Paesi Edizioni) and co-director of "Zemlja – The Land that Remembers, the Land that Forgets", a documentary exploring memory and denial in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina. My work has appeared in Italian and international outlets including La Stampa, Avvenire, L’Espresso, Internazionale, New Lines Magazine, New Eastern Europe, The New Humanitarian and Middle East Eye. I currently lead communications at Gariwo Foundation, where I develop editorial strategies, manage international projects, and work with institutions including the United Nations and the European Parliament.
