Journalist / Producer, LENS2LENS
Based in: Sofia, Bulgaria
Georgi Totev is a Bulgarian journalist and documentary filmmaker working across Southeast Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. His work focuses on armed conflict, post-conflict transitions, and the long-term political and social consequences of war. Since 2013, he has reported from Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey, and Ukraine, examining how conflict reshapes states and communities, deepens polarisation, and erodes civic trust. As co-founder of the documentary collective LENS2LENS, he has directed and filmed projects exploring war, displacement, minority memory, and transitional justice, while developing cross-border investigations that connect local realities to broader regional and European dynamics. His work has been featured across Bulgarian and international media outlets, including Al Jazeera, ARTE, and ZDF.
