I am human rights defender with a focus on LGBTQI+ rights from Azerbaijan. I have been actively involved in documenting and monitoring human rights violations for over eight years. I contribute to Rainbow Maps and Annual Reviews of ILGA-Europe, my work has appeared in numerous reports and publications. I am country expert for ILGA-Europe, advocating for LGBTQI+ rights, gender equality and transitional justice. I hold master’s degree in Queer History from Goldsmiths, University of London. I am also co-founder of Minority Azerbaijan and work as advocacy manager and also editor in chief of the first and only LGBTQI+ magazine in Azerbaijan - Minority Magazine.
