Since the 1980ies she works as a free lancer for newspapers, public german TV and radio, travelling through eastern Europe, Russia and Kasachstan. Her special interest: East-Prussia before 1945 and the successor societies after World war II, escape, expulsion and new beginning. She was an eyewitness of the liberation movements in eastern Europe 1988ff, documented events, city portraits and biographies. Now, she gots involved in helping Ukrainians in Lüneburg, communicates the situation of refugees in public.
