Thomas Seifert, born in 1968 in Upper Austria, studied Biology, is the Editor-in-Chief of the English-language quarterly journal "European Voices." Until June 30, 2023, he was the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of "Wiener Zeitung." Before that, from 2006 to 2015, he worked at "Die Presse" as an editor in the International department, from 1999-2006 at "News" magazine, for about a year before that at "Format" news magazine, and from 1991-1998 at the Vienna city newspaper "Falter." He has also written for publications including "Stern," "brand eins," "taz," and "Welt am Sonntag." In 1994, at the Bierklinik pub, he enthusiastically introduced some "Der Standard" employees to the Internet[1], who subsequently laid the foundation for http://www.derstandard.at. Seifert has traveled to over 100 countries and reported from places including Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Iraq, Russia, Saudi Arabia, both Koreas, India, Bangladesh, and China. Most recently, he has been regularly traveling in Ukraine.
