My name is Steven, I’m based in Berlin, working as a freelance journalist and editor. I co-run the production company Wintergarten Film, where we produce documentaries for public broadcasters. Our work centers on Eastern European countries and queer stories. One of our documentaries, about a gay voguing dancer in Moscow, was honored with the Music Journalism Award in 2022. I also work for the online magazine fluter, where I oversee the video section. I commission and manage the production process from start to finish. In addition, I write articles for various German media outlets and have published two books exploring queer spaces of the past and present in Hamburg and Berlin.
