Sophie Tiedemann (*1997) is a freelance journalist based in Leipzig. She writes about memory and forgetting, and how historical violence continues to resonate long after it has occurred. Her work focuses in particular on how history is narrated, suppressed, or politically instrumentalized. She studied International Studies with a focus on Eastern Europe in The Hague and was an IJP fellow in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 2024.
