Sebastian Pypłacz

Sebastian Pypłacz is a journalist, editor and publisher based in Katowice, Poland. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of Śląska Opinia, an independent regional outlet covering Upper Silesia and the GZM Metropolis across online, print, podcast and live events. His work focuses on the just transition, regional transformation, the green economy, civic participation and institutional accountability, with an emphasis on analytical, regionally grounded reporting on one of Europe's key coal regions in transition. Outside the newsroom, he co-founded BoMiasto, a civic organisation working on climate, energy transformation and urban issues. He is a certified Climate Reality Leader and a member of the Journalists for the Planet (Dziennikarze dla Planety) group.
