Oksana Shchur is a Ukrainian journalist and cultural critic based in Berlin. She works with long-form interviews, essays and analytical reporting at the intersection of culture, war and memory. Her journalism focuses on how Ukraine and Eastern Europe are discussed and represented in international cultural and intellectual contexts, particularly during times of political rupture and armed conflict. Shchur regularly interviews writers, historians, artists and cultural practitioners from Ukraine and abroad, and examines questions of cultural diplomacy, translation, colonial legacies and institutional responsibility. Her work is published in Ukrainian and international media, including LB.ua. She is especially interested in cross-border perspectives, the limits of empathy and solidarity, and the role of culture in shaping public understanding of war.
