Nikolai Klimeniouk

Nikolai Klimeniouk is a journalist, analyst, and political educator based in Berlin. He writes about politics, society, and media, with a focus on Russia, Ukraine, the wider region, and migration from this region to Germany. He studied English, North American Studies, and Theatre Studies at Freie Universität Berlin, as well as Slavic Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He has worked for media outlets in Russia and Germany, among them several independent and liberal Russian publications. Since 2014, he has contributed regularly to German-language and international media, including Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, FAZ, NZZ, and taz. From 2017 to 2020, he hosted a weekly commentary program on the Berlin-based Russian-language television channel OstWest. In addition to his journalistic and analytical work, Klimeniouk organizes and moderates public events, conducts workshops and trainings, and develops research and media projects.
