Marishka Oliva is an independent documentary photographer and journalist based in France, working internationally on conflict, contemporary violence, memory and their human consequences. Her work focuses on civilian life, testimony and the ways in which violence becomes normalized in everyday life. Her ongoing project Between Sirens, started in Odesa in 2025, documents civilian life in Ukraine during the war, while her broader long-term project Violent Condition – on the edge explores contemporary violence across different social and geographical contexts. Her practice combines field photography, documentary research and testimony, with a strong focus on dignity, memory and ethical storytelling.
