Fatima Karimova

Fatima Karimova is an Azerbaijani journalist living in exile in Berlin. With over 13 years of experience in journalism, she holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in the field. She is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Mikroskop Media, an exiled media outlet established in 2018 while she was in a refugee camp. Fatima has sharpened her investigative skills through fellowships and international collaborations, including with OCCRP, where she has contributed to cross-border investigative stories. Her work has also been featured in international outlets such as Der Spiegel and VICE Media. Committed to media innovation and sustainability, she is dedicated to strengthening exiled journalism, ensuring that independent media can survive and thrive despite ongoing repression.
