Unit Network Meeting 2025 - Call for Applications

Published on Jul 8, 2025

We invite the participants of all Unit projects to join us in Poland's countryside for community, connection, and collective reflection

Unbelievable but true: our two-year project on queer history is coming to an end! We focused on four project countries — Belarus, Germany, Poland and Ukraine. However, we have not forgotten our friends, colleagues, partners with whom we have worked in the past years, and we would like to reconnect with you!

This September, join us in Poland's countryside for community, connection, and collective reflection. The Unit network meeting offers an opportunity to recharge amidst beautiful landscapes while strengthening our network.

We will have three tracks with diverse engagement opportunities:

  • Co-operation: work by yourself or with colleagues, to finish your old pieces or start new ones, pitch to editors, apply for grants;

  • Networking with fellow journalists across borders: catching up with old friends and meeting new ones, sharing our news, wins and challenges;

  • Rest: escape the daily grind with time for reflection and relaxation amongst nature’s tranquility.

We will ensure a balanced mix of these formats, but it's up to you to choose what meets your needs and expectations.

Dates: September 22nd - 26th, 2025, (3 days, 4 nights, 22/09 and 26/09 - travel days).
Location: Mazury region in Poland. Exact location will be provided upon acceptance.

Who we welcome: all individuals who were involved in Unit programs — whether as participants, experts, or partner organization representatives from different countries. If you are unsure if you're eligible, reach us at unit@n-ost.org .

  • We will provide accommodation (single or double rooms) and vegetarian/vegan food during this journey, so you can focus on connecting deeply with others;

  • Travel expenses will be covered by the organizing side. We want to encourage you to choose eco-friendly transport where possible;

  • We can not provide visa support;

  • For the convenience of all participants, English shall be used as our main communication language throughout the meeting;

  • We will not be able to accept people with Russian citizenship or from Russia-associated entities.
