Inside Our Workshop in Germany - News from History Unit, Nov ‘24

Recap of our workshop on queer history, new article, opportunities

The second edition of our workshop delved into queer history at significant locations in Weimar and Berlin. A key part was our visit to the Buchenwald Memorial, which helped participants understand the persecution of queer people during the National Socialist period, whilst also highlighting the gaps in current memory culture around the topic.

Through expert-led sessions and visits to queer venues in Berlin, participants explored both historical experiences and current approaches to collective memory and archival work. Read our recap of the workshop and check the new selection of opportunities in the November issue of History Unit’s newsletter.

The project is funded by the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ) and the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) as part of the Education Agenda on NS-Injustice.
