The books they did not want to be written (Kyiv Media Hub event)

Kyiv Media Hub is a series of monthly events and networking activities in the framework of “The Europe-Ukraine Desk” project. These events are aimed at bringing together Ukrainian journalists and their foreign colleagues to discuss professional topics related to journalistic work in Ukraine, share experiences, and create opportunities for collaboration.

On 13 February, a panel discussion “The books they did not want to be written” will shed light on how modern Ukrainian literature depicts the personal and collective experiences of war, captivity, and occupation.

– Myroslav Laiuk, a poet, writer, a war documentarian, author of texts from Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions. His book of essays and features "Bakhmut" was published in December 2023.

– Yulia Tymoshenko, the editor-in-chief for the English translation of Bohdan Lohvynenko's documentary book "Deoccupation: Stories of Ukrainian Resistance".

Moderation by Bohdana Neborak – a journalist with a focus on cultural topics, the interview section editor at The Ukrainians.
