Jerko Bakotin



Staff journalist and international politics editor at prominent Western Balkans political weekly "Novosti". His work focuses on regional and European geopolitics, progressive politics in Croatia and the region, human rights, society, migration and confronting the past. In addition, he writes on cultural topics and interviews fiction writers.

He has contributed to various Croatian and European media, covering politics, society and culture of the post-Yugoslav states, reported from a range of countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa, produced radio and TV reportages, co-authored comprehensive TV series on Kurdish history and authored a book of travelogues and literary reportages. For his print and radio work, he was awarded international and Croatian journalist prizes. In the time period 2011–2016, he was based in Berlin. Occasionally, he works for English and German speaking media.
