Maxim Edwards is a British journalist specialising in central and eastern Europe, with a particular interest in minorities, migration, and the politics of memory. He is currently assistant editor at OCCRP, and from 2015 to 2018 was an editor at oDR, openDemocracy’s section on the post-Soviet states. Max completed a degree in Russian, Central and Eastern European studies at universities in Glasgow and Budapest, and has also worked as a regional analyst on the de-facto states in the South Caucasus. His work has appeared in Al Jazeera, Al Monitor, EurasiaNet, the Forward, openDemocracy, Political Critique and Roads and Kingdoms, among other publications.
