Attila Mong

Reporters in the Field 

Attila Mong is a jury member of the award program "Reporters in the Field". He is a Hungarian-born journalist, radio broadcaster and columnist with 20 years of experience in news and investigative reporting. Now based in Berlin, Attila works as a consultant on digital innovation projects with the DW Akademie, Germany's leading media development organization, and works as a freelance journalist reporting for a number of international media organizations. He is also a supervisory board member of a crowdfunded investigative journalism platform in Hungary. In 2013, he finished the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowships at Stanford University, a program focusing on leadership and innovation in journalism. In 2011, he was visiting research fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution. Attila Mong authored several investigative books in Hungary and was awarded with the most prestigious journalism prizes in his country (the Pulitzer Memorial Prize for Best Investigative Journalism in 2004 and the Soma Investigative Journalism Prize in 2003.)
