I live and work in Berlin since 2004 as a radio, print and television journalist/reporter/producer. As a foreign correspondent and stringer, I travel often to Eastern Europe and Russia. I did a Master of Arts in Eastern European Studies at the Free University of Berlin and for my masters thesis I researched on the identity between the EU and the former Soviet space in Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine. For many years I have been a volunteer in various intercultural associations in order to bring more diversity in the society. In Belarus I completed two internships with local NGOs in the fields disabled people and women's rights (2007). Since 2013 I have been invited as a TV analyst at German televisions to explain and analyze the situation in Eastern Europe. I have many years of experience both on site and in the newsroom. I work for media outlets based in Spain, Latin America and Germany. Since May 2022 I am working at the German nationwide newspaper taz (die tageszeitung), first as Head of News/News Editor and since November 2022 as Foreign Author and Editor.
I look forward to collaborating on politics, culture, History, language, migration and Human Rights projects! I am particularly interested in building bridges between Western and Eastern Europe.
